Tumbbad got a 15-minutes acclamation at 75th Venice International Film Festivals. Also, it is the 1st Indian movie to be premiered there. ~ [ which really made every Indian proud ]
The film’s original score is composed by Jesper Kyd, who’s famous for delivering soundtracks for Assassin’s Creed and Hitman series. You’ll remember his name if you live his music compositions ~ [ the parallels between these games and Tumbbad is amazing ]
We all remember the film’s climax, inside the womb was shot with only one source of light—an oil lamp. ~ [ you watch that scene and you’ll be like – thode time k liye heart beat karna bhool gya ]
The scenes inside the womb actually took nearly 20 days to shoot without any Visual Effects. ~ [ and you thought Nolan is the only god who can do practical effects ]
The entire film was shot over 100 to 120 days (mainly during monsoons) with four shooting schedules starting from 2012 and 2015 to capture the most realistic environment. ~ [ Directorial choice ]
As a result, it took 2191 days (6 years) to complete (including post-production) ~[ hats off to the dedication of the team]
After it was first completed and edited, then it goes for some major changes and was again re-written and re-shot as it was “not able to achieve what it set out to do” ~ [ and we thought Aamir Khan is the only perfectionist in India ]
As we saw some locations were very ancient and deserted. In the words of director Rahil Anil Barve, “we shot in the rain at age-old locations, where no human had ventured for at least a hundred years” ~ [ walking that extra mile for the destination]
Upon its release, the film was unanimously praised by critics, and the audience having 8.3/10 ratings on IMDB. ~ [ no argue with that ]
Made on a production budget of 50 million in total, the film grossed a total of 136 million at the box office, making it a profitable & unforgettable venture. – [ I’m like restoring the faith in humanity ]
