Getting Better Like Wine!

John Wick Parabellum starts right where chapter 2 ended. Now with a bounty of $14 million on his head, John Wick has become the ex communicado and has to survive the countless assassins hunting for him.

Director Chad Stahelski creates a mystical world of its own and nurtures it with exceptionally choreographed action sequences. Numerous innovative set pieces are scattered throughout the movie. The opening sequence in the library sets the tone of the movie and how brutal it is going to be.

John Wick Parabellum could also be considered as the continuation of Chapter 2. The story effortlessly moves around without adding any unnecessary subplots.

Keanu Reeves is More John Wick than Ever!

To start with, Keanu Reeves aka Mr. John Wick has gone through rigorous training regimes to execute the masterful action sequences with finesse and ease. Reeves plays Wick as a man of few words, however, when he talks, he implies each syllable. Approached what he needs when getting ready for the fight to come, he repeats the Famous Line from his Hit Franchise The Matrix, “Guns. Lots of Guns.” The 54-year-old has put everything into becoming John Wick, however, it’s his spooky quietness as a character that goes about as an offset to the insanity of the on-screen activity. Complimenting Reeves was Halle Berry who went through similar training and showed off her moves effortlessly on screen.

And since its not a review, we will tell you our perspective and how John Wick series has upgraded the Hollywood Action Movies Genre.

Reviving the Action Movies of Hollywood

There was a time when the action of Hollywood Movies was focusing on car chases, jumping from the plane, major explosions and many more. What John Wick Series has done is to bring back the raw old school action. The action sequences include fist fights, knives, and guns. John Wick Parabellum up the antics by having an entire sequence with Knives and hand-to-hand combat. The sequence is brilliant and keeps you on the edge.

The most amazing fact is how easily they create an effective scene! There is no slow motion or jumping around buildings with cars. There are several blinks and you’ll miss scenes which shows far and detailed action movies have come, well not all of them. The third installment of this cult classic stays true to its nature and prequels.

The sharp suit and the gun slinging, executing who gets in his manner with a noteworthy 10 on 10 headshots.  The brutal efficiency of how Wick shoots and never misses. The climactic action sequence under neon lighting takes the breath away.

Swords, Ninjas, & Horses

Just when everyone thinks what new could John Wick Parabellum bring to the screen it introduces a set-piece in a stable full of horses. This action sequence happens in the first 30 mins and the audience is ready for a roller coaster ride. It shows how innovative this franchise is becoming with every installment. When things settle down in the movie there comes another set-piece with assassins on bikes with swords and by the time it ends, its time to pick up the jaws which drop on the floor for 10 minutes.

The per-climatic sequence at the Continental Hotel is a great example of how to blend Guns, Lots of Guns… Utmost brutality and dark humor while bullets flying is a sign of excellent direction and screenplay.

This movie proves that not just John who is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will… but the Director as well who focuses on the same commitment and outdoes himself every time.

Si vis pacem, para bellum.

[Latin translation: If you want peace, prepare for war]
